Breeding is not always fair, in this litter I did everything by the book. All health testing, Bummy was in great shape we kept her in shape, we had regular pre-natal appointments and yet I ended up with an emergency C section because a puppy was abnormally presented and as such the shoulders could not fit through the birth canal
This little guy was stuck behind the stuck puppy and when I heard his cry it was pure joy. They brought him to me and he was awake but dazed from the anesthesia but within a few minutes he was awake and boy was he!
He is the largest of the bunch just a hair under one pound and he is eating a storm. He is also marked like Bummy, he has her beautiful copper on his face and merle markings. He has a cool black patch on his shoulder that is gorgeous.
Week 1 Update – Big Blue makes me laugh, he is of course bigger than everyone so usually is found on the bottom of the puppy pile. He looks more and more like Bumble Bee everyday.
Week 2 Update – I really try not to have favorites because they are all spectacular but Blue is my heart. They are all starting to open their eyes and he loves back scratches and smooches. If I do not keep him whoever gets him will be having a colonoscopy interview and sign in blood to worship the ground he walks on.
Week 3 Update – Always the one who will make me laugh, always there to say Hi – Blue is a social butterfly. He is really the puppy who loves live and happy go lucky with a dash of fearlessness. He is also as usual the biggest and everyone’s favorite snuggle partner.
Week 4 Update – Blue made first contact with the cats and Sam. Spudd was helping me play with the puppies and Blue trotted over and tried to whack him. Spudd was shocked. Blue’s attempt to play with Sam was met with a canine eye roll and an escape up to my son’s room. Outgoing, active and outrageous would be what I would describe Blue as – he is always cracking me up.
Week 5 Update – Blue is perfect as usual – he loves our old dog so much and follows him around. He is getting so big and goofy now. He loves to clown around and be goofy. He is like a fuzzy teddy bear!
Week 6 Update – Blue has a new name Memphis (after my favorite Broadway show). It is no surprise to anyone that he is staying with us. My miracle puppy who has always had a special bond with me. If Bummy is my heart, Memphis is my soul. We loved both of the boys so much I had to swear not to add another animal to the house for a decade but it was worth it. It will be great to watch the boys grow up.
In order to give the Aussie's their due I have moved them to their own website. I have continued my personal website that will continue with my photography and writing.
