Sometimes Expect the Unexpected

We went to the Charleston Kennel Club so Memphis and I could participate in the Match they had.  He is entered in the USASA Futurity and only owners can show in it.  My co-owner Frank is not sure he will be there so I have to be ready to show Memphis.

Yes poor Memphie has drawn the short stick in all of this!  I called Jamie to see if he is going to the show and he had said yes so I told him I was coming down for the match and asked if he would show Memphis for me on Saturday.  I figured that it would settle him down and he has only show a couple of times so why not.  Plus that meant he would groom him (ha ha ha!).  I figured since Stinger would be coming along maybe he could show him on Sunday.

So we made the plan and I dropped the Tinks off on Tuesday to get ready for the show. My friend Leanne and I drove down today to watch and of course get ready for the match.

Memphis was in the first class, the 12-18 puppy class and showed against “Ari” a VERY nice Uwharrie puppy.  Memphis went around the ring pretty good and won!  He showed really well for Jamie and I was excited.  I had to hide because Memphis is very attached to me (some would call him spoiled!!!).

He went back in for Winner’s Dog and the judge, Jim Frederickson, immediately started looking at him.  I has happy that it looked like he was going to consider him.  For those that do not follow shows, it is TOUGH to get considered as a puppy and Memphis is still immature so being considered was something I was excited for.

Imagine my surprise when he pointed at Memphis!!  WINNERS DOG!  During his podium photo the judge told Jamie Memphis was a great mover and really like him.  Mr Frederickson judges Aussie a lot and has judged the Specialties and Nationals so it was high praise!

I am so very proud of my sweet little Memphie!  He is his mother’s son – he just loves to show.  I cannot thank Jamie Clute and his assistant Katie Collins for all of the fantastic work they do with my dogs!  Tomorrow Stinger is in the ring!

Oh yeah the match was fine – I am way to slow for Memphis but unless I grow 6 inches he is going to have to deal with it!  The best part is I got to celebrate with my friends and those who were not there, I got texts.  This is what showing is all about!
